Our Story

Farmers Choice Meats is a family owned and operated meat wholesale business who supply beef and pork to independent Butchers, Supermarkets, Wholesalers, Restaurants, IGA’s AND Drakes as well as exporting beef and pork products.

All Farmers Choice Meats Beef is service processed through NCMC Abattoir at Casino, NSW.

The owners Brad and Sharon Stenzel, with their family were operating Farmers Choice Meats with cattle from their farm and pork and lamb sourced throughout Australia from 2007.

In 2011, Farmers Choice Meats purchased Marcelford Wholesale Meats. Marcelford Meats was a meat wholesaler of Beef, Pork and Lamb, operating out of an abattoir at Churchill, Queensland. At the end of 2019, a new premises was purchased, and the decision was made to revert our company name back to our original business name that we had retained – Farmers Choice Meats, so that it is more user friendly to our customers and suits today’s market needs.

Farmers Choice Meats is currently operated out of Churchill Abattoir in Ipswich, with construction underway for the expansion of a cold room facility at Carole Park, which will be our new operating facility once completed. The cold room facility is currently being modified and expanded so that is its export compliant to tier two, to ensure it meets our business needs now and in the future.

Farmers Choice Meats has its own boning and packing facilities.  The products are distributed to butchers, wholesaler, manufacturers, supermarkets, restaurants and retailers. Farmers Choice Meats supplies only the best quality meat products to the end consumer. Our quality assurance processes ensure food safety and product quality. This is evident in the products Farmers Choice Meats supplies to their customers.

Farmers Choice Meats source their livestock both locally and interstate, to meet the individual needs of their customers. This means that the products supplies are fresh every day of the week.

Brad and Sharon Stenzel (owners) have undertaken and successfully passed the export accreditation course, so that our business can become a successful supplier of meat in both the domestic and international markets.

Farmers Choice Meats has expanded quite considerably in the past years, with many new avenues in the value-add area being a successful addition to our growth as a family business.

Our new premises that is currently under renovation, to meet tier two compliance for meat export and meet all necessary quality assurance compliancy standards required within our new premises.
